You are ready to start using the Loop app with a replacement iPhone after it is activated and fully restored from iCloud.

If you give the new phone sufficient time to synchronize with iCloud before starting, you can check the Health app to see if the glucose and insulin data is current. This will allow the Loop app to use current information to achieve a proper prediction. If this data is not current, you should start this with stable blood glucose and as little IOB and COB as possible until Loop stores sufficient current data for a reliable prediction. About six hours would be sufficient.

If the old phone is present, operational, and running the Dexcom mobile app and Loop, take these steps with your old iPhone.

On the new (replacement) iPhone:
  • Install the T1Pal Loop app from TestFlight. You will need your Uploader URL and API Secret
    • On another device, like your desktop computer or another phone, log in to your T1Pal account dashboard and access the Uploader Page
      • Scan the QR code on this page with the camera app on the new phone to open the Mobile Uploader Helper web page, which you will use to copy and paste into the Loop app.
    • Start the Loop app and log into Nightscout with your URL and API Secret.
      • Select "Import from Nightscout" to obtain your settings and presets (overrides). The app will take you through onboarding, and the import will prefill your settings. Review those for accuracy and then select to save those settings.
    • You will then connect your existing CGM session and start a new pod.
