Please follow these instructions to switch from T1Pal Loop, T1Pal Loop Plus or T1Pal Loop 3 to T1Pal Loop Pro. 



Carbohydrates On Board will NOT be transferred to the new app, so it is best to do this with minimal COB. 


  • Accept the TestFlight Invitation for T1Pal Loop Prowhich was sent to your Apple ID email.
    • This is sent to the Adult Apple ID if the person using Loop is <13 years old.
      • Press "View in TestFlight."
      • Press "Install."
      • This can be removed from the Adult's phone after installation.
    • Install T1Pal  Loop Pro from TestFlight on the Loop user's iPhone.
      • Do not select "open"
  • Locate and start the new T1Pal Loop app from the home screen
    • Agree to all questions and grant all requested permissions.
  • Select "Use Nightscout with Loop"
    • Use the phone's camera app to scan the QR code on your T1Pal Uploader page, which will open the Mobile Upload Helper page in your phone's browser.
    • Use this to copy the Uploader URL and API Secret into the Loop app and log in.
  • Select "Import Settings from Nightscout"
    • Review and accept all settings.
    • This also imports custom presets ("overrides")
  • Select "Add CGM"
    • Enter Transmitter ID if G6
    • Wait for the first reading to confirm. 
  • Select "Add Pump"
    • Set Reminder defaults and select insulin type. 
    • Do not start a new Pod
  • From your currently active T1Pal Loop app:
    • Select "Replace Pod"
    • Select "Disable Pod"
    • Cancel the pairing of the new pod
    • Remove the pod from the body
  • From the new T1Pal Loop Pro app:
    • Select the pump control panel from the upper right of the Loop app main display
    • Pair pod and proceed as usual.
    • Select Closed Loop operation
    • Select Dosing Strategy
    • Select Algorithm Experiments
    • Recreate Profiles if used
  • After 2-4 CGM readings, the Loop status will become green.
  • Verify the correct operation of T1Pal Loop Pro
  • When you are confident that T1Pal Loop Pro is operating correctly
    • Remove the previous T1Pal Loop app from your phone
    • Select previous T1Pal Loop app in TestFlight
      • Select "Stop Testing"
      • Confirm "Stop Testing"


If you are a Loop Caregiver user, please follow these instructions to reconfigure that app.


Note: Two different QR codes are discussed below.

On the Loop Caregiver app:
  • Remove the Looper from the Caregiver app.
  • Add the Looper to the Caregiver app
    • Enter the name of the Looper, 
    • Enter the Nightscout URL and API_SECRET
      • You can find these here:https://t1pal.com/account/sites/my#Uploaders 
      • The QR code on this page can be scanned with the Loop Caregiver app's camera. This will open a web page where you can easily copy and paste these values.
After you’ve entered the URL and API Secret, you will use a different QR code from the Loop app for the following instructions:

On the Loop phone:
  • Tap on the gear icon in the lower right-hand corner of the Loop app
  • Under “services,” tap Nightscout
  • Tap on “One-Time-Password”
A QR code will appear. You should scan this code with the Caregiver app on your phone.

Tip: You can take a screenshot and email it to yourself to scan it later if you need to add the Looper to the Caregiver app when the Loop phone is unavailable.
This QR code will change if you delete and reinstall the Loop app.
